Jackals Score Eight Unanswered to Defeat Cuba

The Jackals won 8-6 against the Cuban national team. The Jackals struggled early but came back off the back of Pitcher/outfielder Dylan Brammer to win the series, two games to one.

In the first inning Jackals Starting pitcher Eduardo Reyes let up three after an inside the park Home run by Yusvany Alacorn after starting right fielder Demetrios Morrer collided into the right field wall injuring himself in the process. This injury caused the Jackals reliever Dylan Brammer to step up and play right field for the Jackals.

In the second inning the Cuban international racked on 3 more run but would go scoreless the rest of the night.

After a scoreless third inning, the Jackals scored 4 runs on the Cuban team after an E7 allowed Jay Gonzalez to score and Alfredo Marte followed with a three run home run over the left field fence.

The Jackals then scored one run in the six and seventh to tie the game. In the eighth inning Marte and Nelson Ward both reached base putting runners on first and second. After Emilio Gurrero's sac bunt moved the runners to scoring position the Cuban national intentional walked Chase Smart to put the game at bases loaded two outs for the reliever Dylan Brammer. Brammer showed he could hit with a two RBI single to give the Jackals a 8-6 lead and came on to pitch in the ninth to close the game.

The Jackals took this series against the Cuban National team, making their record against international play 4-2. Tomorrow the Jackals take on the Quebec Capitals in a double header ahead of a four game series starting at 5 at Yogi Berra Stadium.
