
Jackals Sign a Pair of Defensemen

ELMIRA, NY - August 2, 2016 - The Elmira Jackals, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres and AHL's Rochester Americans, announced today the team has signed defensemen Guy Leboeuf and Davis Vandane to Standard Player Contracts for the 2016-17 season.
Leboeuf, 26, returns to Elmira for his second season with the Jackals. Acquired by Elmira from the Brampton Beast on December 26th, Leboeuf skated in 43 games for the Jackals recording nine points (one goal, eight assists) and a +3 plus/minus. He also recorded an assist in 20 games with
Brampton to begin last season. Leboeuf scored his first professional goal on March 25th against Brampton. The 6-foot-5 215-pound blueliner has compiled 13 points (one goal, 12 assists) in 124 career ECHL games between Elmira, Brampton, the South Carolina Stingrays and the Missouri Mavericks. He also added one assist in 14 AHL contests with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers.
Prior to turning pro, the Bedford, Quebec native posted 25 points (nine goals, 16 assists) and 154 penalty minutes in 136 NCAA games at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (R.P.I.). Leboeuf was named to the ECAC All-Academic Team all four years while attending R.P.I.
Vandane, 24, joins the Jackals after splitting his first professional season between the Greenville Swamp Rabbits, Alaska Aces and the Norfolk Admirals. Vandane registered eight points (two goals, six assists) and a +1 plus/minus in 45 combined ECHL games as a rookie.
"I am excited to be joining the Jackals organization for my second professional season," said Vandane. "I am looking forward to winning games and bringing a championship to the city of Elmira."
Prior to turning pro, the Yorkton, Saskatchewan played two seasons at the University of Calgary (CIS) recording 18 points (five goals, 13 assists) and a +11 plus/minus in 33 games. Before he attending the University of Calgary, Vandane appeared in 189 WHL games between the Saskatoon Blades, Spokane Chiefs and the Prince Albert Raiders. The 6-foot-4 200-pound blueliner logged 79 points (15 goals, 64 assists), 92 penalty minutes and a +27 plus/minus over four seasons in the WHL.
