New Jersey Jackals News Release

Little Falls, N.J. - The New Jersey Jackals are pleased to announce the signing of former major league infielder and 17-year baseball veteran D'Angleo Jimenez. Jimenez spent time with seven teams in the majors over the course of an eight-year big-league career.

The 33-year-old Jimenez joins the Jackals after spending the first part of 2011 with two different teams in the Mexican League. In 45 total games for Yucatan and Veracruz, the Dominican Republic native batted .320 with 18 RBIs.

Jimenez was originally a New York Yankees' farmhand who made his major league debut with the New York in 1999 when he appeared in seven games. Jimenez was traded to the San Diego Padres in 2001 for pitcher Jay Witasick and played in 173 games for the Padres from 2001 to 2002. Jimenez spent 2002 to 2007 with seven different major league clubs.

Over his big-league career, Jimenez batted .263 with 26 homeruns and 228 RBIs in 641 games. Throughout his career, Jimenez played for the Yankees, Padres, Chicago White Sox, Cincinnati Reds, Texas Rangers, Oakland Athletics and Washington Nationals. He spent his most time in a Reds' uniform, playing 260 games from 2003 to 2005. Jimenez has spent every season at the Triple-A level or higher since 1998.

In addition to Jimenez, the Jackals also signed right-handed reliever Cody Railsback. The Rockwall, Texas native began the season with two teams in the American Association, where he appeared in 13 games between Shreveport-Bossier and Grand Prairie. In 2010 with Shreveport-Bossier, the 24-year-old reliever posted the best ERA of his career, when he was 3-0 with a 1.29 ERA in 19 games. Railsback spent the first three seasons of his career in the Atlanta Braves' system before making the jump to the American Association in 2010.

The New Jersey Jackals, proud members of the Canadian-American Association of Professional Baseball, play their home games at Yogi Berra Stadium located on the campus of Montclair State University in Little Falls, NJ. 2011 single-game tickets, season tickets, mini-plans and group outings are available by calling 973-746-7434.
