IN JUST A FEW HOURS...
The Elmira Jackals will have a chance to extend their American East Division lead to five points as they take on the Trenton Devils at the Sun National Bank Center in Trenton, N.J.
Last night the Jackals defeated the Reading Royals on the road 3-2, making it seven straight games with at least one point for Elmira since the all-star break. The Jackals are now 6-0-1-0 in the last seven games, their second best unbeaten-in-regulation stretch of the season. Elmira had an eight-game point earning streak from Oct. 16 to Nov. 6.

DID YOU KNOW?
Last night was the Jackals second regulation win this season in which they scored under four goals. Their first was on Jan. 8 in a 3-1 win at home against the Florida Everblades.
UNFRIENDLY HOSTS
The Jackals are trying to win a game in Trenton for the first time since April 21, 2009, when the Jackals took down the Devils in game seven of the North Division Semifinals 5-3. Elmira is 0-3-0-0 in Trenton this season. Three months ago to this date, the Jackals lost their first game in regulation of 2009-2010 by a score of 5-4 against the Devils in Trenton.
SHORT-HANDED SUCCESS
The Jackals have short-handed goals in three of the last five games. Last night, Justin Donati took the puck up the left wing boards and fed a cutting Matt Lowry on the doorstep, who tipped the puck into the net for the Jackals seventh short-handed goal of the season. It gave the Jackals a 1-0 lead early in the first period.
