Chris Murray Returns To Trenton Devils

Trenton, NJ, February 7, 2010 - Defenseman Chris Murray has been returned to the Trenton Devils of the ECHL from loan to the Lowell Devils of the AHL. The announcement was made by Lowell and Trenton Devils General Manger Chris Lamoriello.

Murray, 25, scored two points (1g, 1a) and amassed 25 penalty minutes in 16 games with Lowell. In three games with Trenton this season Murray has collected one point (0g, 1a) and 13 penalty minutes. Murray has split time between the AHL and the ECHL in his three year professional career, spending time with Peoria, Springfield, Albany, and Hartford of the AHL and Phoenix and Charlotte of the ECHL. Murray's best professional season came in 2008-09 with the Charlotte Checkers, when he accumulated 15 points (2g, 13a) and 124 penalty minutes in 53 games. A right handed shooter, Murray stands six feet, two inches, weighs 185 pounds, and turns 26 December 26.

The Dover, Massachusetts native spent his collegiate career with University of New Hampshire. During his senior year, Murray led all Wildcat defensemen with nine goals, finished second among defensemen with 22 points, and led the team with 84 penalty minutes. Murray, a 2006-2007 Hockey East All-Star selection, played in 112 career games for the University of New Hampshire, scoring 11 career goals and 24 career assists while recording 191 penalty minutes.
