Jackals drop two in North Shore

Little Falls, NJ - The New Jersey Jackals dropped both games of a doubleheader in heartbreaking fashion, in the bottom of the seventh, by scores of 2-1, and 1-0.

In game one, the Jackals made sure to get to North Shore starter Alex Herrera early, though it wasn't much. John Lindsey doubled, plating Elvis Corporan giving the Jackals a 1-0 lead.

The Spirit fought back in the bottom of the third, tying the game at one run a piece on an RBI groundout by Vic Davilla.

Herrera and Jackals' starter Isaac Pavlik matched each other blow for blow, until the bottom of the seventh inning, when Pavlik flinched first. Marcos Agramonte belted a walk-off homerun to left field, a solo shot, to win the ballgame for the Spirit in dramatic fashion.

Isaac Pavlik suffered a tough loss, while Alex Herrera silenced the Jackals after the first innings. He fanned 11 in seven innings of work, while earning

In game two, as advertised, fans witnessed another pitcher's duel between New Jersey's Josh Brey, and North Shore's Bryan Morse. Neither pitcher gave up a run through six and a half innings, until the bottom the seventh came around.

A leadoff walk issued to Brian Macchi, gave way to pinch runner Garrett Weir. With one outs and Weir aboard second, Eric Storey singled him home to win the ballgame in dramatic fashion.

The loss went to Josh Brey, while Bryan Morse was the winner for the Spirit, while two-hitting the Jackals.
