New Jersey Jackals News Release
Despite strong pitching from starting pitcher Aaron Myers, the Jackals lost the last game of their home series against the Can-Am Grays by a score of 4-2. With the loss, the Jackals split the four game series against the Grays.
The Jackals lineup, however, was depleted due to various injuries and illnesses to some of the team's regular starting players, including catcher Sandy Madera, shortstop Chris Rown, and outfielder Mike Piercy.
With the loss, the Jackals dropped to 5-6 on the season and Myers' record fell to 1-2. Offensively, Jackals Steve Checksfield and John Lindsey continued their strong hitting and combined for two RBI hits on the day.
The Grays' Jodie Kennedy pitched 5 1/3 strong innings, holding the Jackals to just two runs, only one of them earned. Greg Strickland of the Grays had a two RBI single to put the Grays ahead 3-1.
The Jackals next game is scheduled for tomorrow night at 7:05 against the Quebec Capitals. Joe Orloski is the scheduled starting pitcher for the Jackals.
