Elmira Jackals News Release

ELMIRA, NY - The Elmira Jackals, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres and AHL's Rochester Americans, today announced the completion of separate future consideration trades with the Toledo Walleye and Indy Fuel.

The Jackals have traded defenseman Jacob MacDonald to Toledo to complete the future considerations from the January 12th trade that brought veteran defenseman Kyle Bushee back to Elmira.

This season Bushee set numerous Jackals' all-time ECHL records by a defenseman. He holds the record for games played (164), goals (23), power-play goals (9) and shots on goal (408). Bushee also achieved a personal milestone playing in his 500th professional game on February 6th at Manchester.

In a separate transaction, the Jackals have sent forward Tyler Currier to Indy which satisfied the future considerations from the March 2nd trade that brought Shane Owen to Elmira.

Owen won his first seven starts with the Jackals and was named runner-up for the Warrior Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Month in March (8-1-0 1.88 GAA, .940 SV%) while earning consecutive runner-up finishes for the CCM ECHL Goaltender of the Week. Overall, Owen posted a 9-3-1 record with a 2.30 goals-against-average and a .926 save percentage as a member of the Jackals.
