Jackals Blank Cutters 7-0; Keinath Pitches Well in Loss

Little Falls, NJ- The New Haven County Cutters received a strong performance from starter Tim Keinath, but fell to the New Jersey Jackals 7-0 at Yogi Berra Stadium on Thursday night.

The Jackals broke a scoreless tie in the bottom of the third on Jay LaFlair solo homerun, giving New Jersey a 1-0 lead. The Jackals added another run on a throwing error by P.J. Johnston that allowed Juan Infante to score extending the lead to 2-0.

The score remained 2-0 until the bottom of the eighth when the Jackals scored five times against righty reliever Luke Lambo. The inning was capped off by a Chris Rowan two run homer for Jersey that made it a 7-0 game.

New Jersey starting pitcher Josh Miller pitched seven innings, scattering five hits and striking out six to improve to improve to 5-3. Aaron Myers and Fabrizio Benitez pitched the final two innings for the Jackals completing the shutout

New Haven starter Tim Keinath (3-4), making his second start of the season had a strong outing. The Cutters' right hander went a season-high seven innings, allowing up two runs, one earned on five hits, but took the loss.

The Cutters continue their series with the New Jersey Jackals on Friday night at 7:05pm.
