Greenville Drive News Release
Charleston, SC - Tuesday night's scheduled South Atlantic League game between the Greenville Drive and Charleston RiverDogs has been postponed due to heavy rains in the Lowcountry resulting from tropical storm Alberto.
The two clubs will make up the game as part of a doubleheader on Thursday, June 15, with the first game slated for a 5:05 p.m. first pitch. There will be two seven-inning games. Wednesday's game, slated for a 7:05 p.m. start, remains as scheduled.
The RiverDogs took the first game of the four-game series Monday night, 2-1. With the victory the RiverDogs jumped ahead of the Drive in the standings into fourth place by a half game with six games remaining in the season's first half.
The Drive and RiverDogs continue their four-game series Wednesday night at Joseph P. Riley Park with first pitch set for 7:05 PM. Greenville will send SAL All-Star selection Chris Jones to the mound as Charleston will counter with left-hander Wilkins Arias.
The Drive return home to West End Field on June 16 to closeout the first half of the regular season with a three-game series versus the Asheville Tourists. Tickets to all Drive home games can be purchased by calling the Drive Ticket Office at 864-240-4528 or online at www.GreenvilleDrive.com.
