Isotopes to Welcome 8 Millionth Fan this Weekend

August 27, 2016 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Albuquerque Isotopes News Release

The Albuquerque Isotopes are set to welcome their eight millionth fan tomorrow night during the final home game of the regular season. Going into tonight's game (Saturday), the Isotopes are just 15,602 fans shy of the eight million mark.

"We've been extremely fortunate to have such great support from the community for 14 years now, and it's very humbling to be able to welcome our 8 millionth fan to Isotopes Park," said Isotopes General Manager John Traub. "We cannot thank our fans enough for their continued support throughout the years."

The Isotopes have eclipsed 500,000 total fans in all 14 seasons. "This year could certainly be the most challenging due to a record five rain-outs, a prolonged monsoon season, and several other games which were affected by the weather," said Traub.

Prior to 2016, the Isotopes were never rained out more than twice in a season. Despite these circumstances, the Isotopes currently rank fourth in the Pacific Coast League in average and total attendance on the year.

Now in their 14th season, the Isotopes annually rank among Minor League Baseball's attendance leaders. The club has ranked in the top five for overall and average attendance in the Pacific Coast League since they came into existence in 2003.
