Albuquerque Isotopes News Release

The Isotopes offense (29-29) ignited for 13 hits Tuesday evening led by Daniel Castro's three-hit game in route to a 9-6 victory over the El Paso Chihuahuas (27-32) at Isotopes Park. The win ended Albuquerque's four-game losing streak and brought its season record back to the .500 mark.

The Isotopes trailed 3-1 after two innings, but rallied for three runs in both the fourth and fifth to go ahead 7-3. Albuquerque's final two runs of the contest came on solo home runs from Castro and Mike Tauchman. The home run was Castro's second of the season while Tauchman now has a career-best seven long balls in 2017.

All eight of the Isotopes starting position players recorded at least one hit with Castro, Tom Murphy and Ryan McMahon logged multi-hit performances. Noel Cuevas' two-run triple in the fifth inning extended his hitting streak to seven games. Cuevas now leads the team with six triples and 38 RBI on the year.

Harrison Musgrave earned his first win of the season, yielding five runs and seven hits in 5.1 innings of work. The outing was his longest of the season. Matt Carasiti picked up his league leading 12th save with two scoreless frames to end the game.

The Isotopes and Chihuahuas are back in action Wednesday night from Isotopes Park. Albuquerque has not announced a starting pitcher while El Paso will go to right-hander Kyle Lloyd (0-1, 5.84) on the mound. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.?
