Charlottetown Islanders News Release

The Islanders return home for a date with the Cape Breton Eagles.

It's the beginning of a four-game homestand and a busy week for Charlottetown.

The Isles are coming home from a three-game set in Quebec where we went 1-2-0-0. They lost to the Sherbrooke Phoenix and the Quebec Remparts while defeating the Shawinigan Cararactes.

The Eagles are on a two-game skid, most recently losing 3-2 to the Acadie-Bathurst Titan.

Carter Bickle will start in goal for the Islanders. So far, he is 4-7-0-0 while posting a 3.73 goals against average and an .863 save percentage.

He is coming off of a 4-1 loss to the Phoenix where he allowed three goals on 31 shots, with the fourth being an empty-net goal.

Ross Campbell will remain out of the lineup but the final roster will be a game-time decision.

Keys to victory

The Isles need to bounce back well. They ran out of steam on the road trip playing three days in a row, but with a day of rest they have no excuse to be ready to go right from puck drop against a struggling Eagles team.

They need to stay out of penalty trouble early. It's a recurring theme that they lose a man to the penalty box in the first few minutes of the game. That means from the beginning, they're playing catch-up. The Isles need to jump on the Eagles early.

Players to watch

CHA - Michael Horth has now gone four games without a goal and the captain is hungry for more. He can be the first Islanders player to hit 30 points with just one point tonight and don't be surprised if he does it with his big net-front presence.

Don't look now but Carl-Etienne Michel is heating up. He has three points in his last three games, including his first goal of the season against his hometown team in Sherbrooke. The defensive core is heating up offensively, and Michel is a big part of that.

CAP - In his first season in Cape Breton, Cole Burbidge has 23 points in 29 games. He is second in scoring on the team only behind Cam Squires. Burbidge is on a three-game point streak and is coming off of a two point performance in Bathurst. He's hot and the Islanders will have to defend him well.

Puck drop at the Eastlink Centre is at 7 p.m.
