Charlottetown Islanders News Release
The Charlottetown Islanders have announced a roster move today, claiming '99 born defenseman Jacob Arsenault off waivers from the Sherbrooke Phoenix.
Through 8 games this season with Sherbrooke, Arsenault has tallied one goal and 15 penalty minutes. The Summerside, PEI native had been acquired by the Phoenix in a preseason trade with the Moncton Wildcats. Last season with Moncton, he registered one goal and 3 assists over 60 games.
"We are excited to add Jake as we feel he's a player that fits the mold of Islanders hockey." said Islanders assistant coach Brad Mackenzie.
When asked about the 6'1 defenseman, Mackenzie was quick to point to the quality of the person.
"He's an honest, hard-working player with great character." added Mackenzie. "The addition of Jake adds depth and stability to our blueline."
Jacob Arsenault will join his new Islander teammates tomorrow morning ahead of Friday night's home game against the Saint John Sea Dogs. Tickets for the game can be purchased at the Eastlink Centre box office, by phone at 902-629-6625, or online at https://boxoffice.eastlinkcentrepei.com.
