
Island Storm Earn Close Win over Windsor Express 100-94

(WINDSOR,ON)- The Windsor Express (6-8) lost their second game in a row, this time at home to the Island Storm (5-8), with a final score of 100-94.
The Express were off to a hot start in the game, leading 6-0 in the first two minutes. The Storm came back, going on a 6-0 run to take the lead by the midway point of the quarter, 11-9. Tirell Baines closed the quarter by sinking a pair of free throws, and the Storm finished with a 31-19 lead.
Brandon Robinson opens the second quarter with a one handed dunk to make it a 10 point game, 31-21. Windsor went on a 7-0 run to make it a 6 point game, 39-36 midway through the quarter. The Island went into halftime with a 7 point lead, 53-46.
Chris Commons starts the second half of the game with a jumper to bring the score within 5, 53-48. The Storm continued to stay in the lead for the remainder of the quarter, until Brandon Robinson hit a jumper to tie the score, 71-71 with less than three minutes left in the quarter. The Storm finish the third with a 74-73 advantage.
The Island started off the last quarter with back to back buckets from George Beamon and Brent Jennings to make it a 5 point game, 78-73. The score would not be tied again until Shaquille Keith hits both of his free throws, 94-94 with a minute left in the game. The Island came away with the win after Rashad Whack hits both of his free throws, 100-94.
Chris Commons added a double double with 26 points and 10 rebounds. Rookie Shaquille Keith put up 21 points and Brandon Robinson had 20 points.
Brent Jennings put up a game high 27 points for the Island Storm.
Two Island Storm players had double double performances in their win over Windsor. Nick Evans put up 20 points and 10 rebounds. Brian Addison added 17 points and 16 rebounds.
The Windsor Express will play their next home game at Caesars Windsor for the third annual Clash at the Colosseum series, presented by Vito's Pizzeria. The Express will face the first place London Lightning for a 7:30pm game start.
