Tri-City Storm News Release
Kearney, NE. - Tri-City Storm goaltender Isaiah Saville has been named Goaltender of the Week by the United States Hockey League (USHL) following a twenty five save shutout performance in Tri-City's 3-0 victory over the Des Moines Buccaneers on Friday. Saville picked up his third victory of the season, and first career shutout in the win.
Isaiah Saville, 18, of Anchorage, AK has won each of his first three career games in goal for the Tri-City Storm, and currently leads the USHL with a Goals Against Average (GAA) of 0.67. He has allowed only two goals in 180 minutes played, and has made 67 saves on 69 shots in the 2018-2019 regular season. Saville becomes the first Storm player to receive Goaltender of the Week honors since former Storm goaltender Filip Larsson was named USHL Goaltender of the Week on December 4th, 2017. Saville was acquired by Tri-City in a draft day trade with the Madison Capitols at the 2018 USHL Draft, and previously announced a commitment to play college hockey at the University of Nebraska Omaha.
"We had a really good week of practice, we wanted to make sure we were able to get that first win at home, and we were able to do that. I worked hard on my skating in the offseason to make sure my positioning is the best it can be. We want to keep playing well for both ourselves and our fans." - Goaltender Isaiah Saville
"The honor Isaiah received is a testament to the work and detail he has put in. Goaltending Coach Matt Zaba has done a tremendous job with both our goaltenders, they are two guys who do it right and who deserve the accolades. Isaiah is extremely mature, approaches things like a pro, and is a great teammate. Just like the rest of our guys right now, he's someone who brings a ton of energy to the rink every day."- Head Coach Anthony Noreen
