Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
The IronPigs (4-3) play Game One of a mini two-game series against the Syracuse Chiefs (5-3) at Alliance Bank Stadium. With a 9-4 win in a "rubber match" last night, Lehigh Valley won its series in Rochester, 2-1, and has now won back-to-back games for the first time in 2011. The Pigs finished 2010 with a 58-86 record and in fifth place in the IL North. The Chiefs -- Washington's top affiliate -- lost 8-2 last night against Pawtucket in their attempt to sweep a three-game home series. After finishing 2010 at 76-67 and just 2.5 GB of the Wild Card, Syracuse is currently tied for first in the North Division with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre... First-pitch today is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
RHP Eddie Bonine (0-1, 1.50) will start for LHV against LHP Tom Milone (1-0, 0.00).
WITH LAST NIGHT'S WIN...:
LHV won its first road series of 2011 (in its first try) and its first series in ROC since taking 3-of-4, 8/1/09-8/4/09.
