Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release

The fifth-place IronPigs (57-85) play the opener of a two-game series -- their final series of 2010 -- against the North Division Champion Scranton/WB Yankees (86-55) -- New York's top affiliate. With a 4-3 win last night, the Pigs snapped a two-game skid to split the home series against Buffalo. Although they've now won five of its last eight games, the Pigs are just 13-27 (.325) over their last 40 affairs... Scranton/WB defeated Pawtucket, 6-1, last night to sweep a two-game home series and run its winning streak to four games... In fact, the Yankees have won 14 of their last18 contests and -- since a season-high, four-game losing streak 7/21-7/24 -- the Yanks have gone 29-11 (.725) in their last 40 games.

RHP Brandon Duckworth (5-4, 3.47) will start for LHV against RHP Lance Pendleton (2-1, 5.00).

First-Pitch is at 5:35 p.m. Game to be followed by Labor Day Eve Fireworks, presented by Pennsylvania Lottery.

WITH A WIN TONIGHT, THE PIGS WILL...:

* Record their 100th all-time victory at Coca-Cola Park (entered today with a 99-115 all-time home record).

* Clinch their first-ever, winning season-series against SWB -- which defeated LHV, 14-2, in 2009; and 10-6 in 2008.
