Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
The IronPigs (19-29) play Game Three of a four-game series against the third-place Rochester Red Wings (24-23) -- the Minnesota Twins top affiliate. With a 6-3 loss last night, the 'Pigs have lost the first two games of the series after a season-high, three-game winning streak -- and have now dropped six straight to the Red Wings going back to 2008. Lehigh Valley is just 5-14 in its last 19 games... Rochester has won two straight, but is still just 7-10 since starting 17-13 through May 12...
Phillies' rehabbing LHP J.C. Romero (0-1, 4.50) will start for the IronPigs - piggy-backed by RHP Drew Carpenter (2-0, 3.61) - against RHP Kevin Mulvey (2-2, 3.75).
First-Pitch today is at 1:35 p.m. for Night Light Giveaway, as presented by Lutron Electronics.
COUNTDOWN TO 1,500:
'Pigs skipper Dave Huppert is still at 1,499 career MiLB wins -- 3rd most amongst all active managers behind (1) Round Rock's Marc Bombard [entered season with 1,709] and (2) Orem's Tom Kotchman [entered with 1,542]. Unofficially, the record for Minor League wins is held by Stan Wasiak 2,530 from 1950-1986; 1,824 needed to crack Top 20.
