Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release

(Allentown, Pa.) - With another sell-out crowd of 10,000 fans at Coca-Cola Park on Friday night, the IronPigs surpassed their 2008 attendance mark of 602,033 fans and remain one of just three teams in all of Minor League Baseball to average more than 9,000 fans per game in 2009. Through 67 openings at Coca-Cola Park this season, the IronPigs are averaging 9,124 fans per game - an 8% increase over last season's 67-opening mark of 8,412 fans per game. The increase has the IronPigs positioned to potentially become one of just two teams in Minor League Baseball to exceed 635,000 in total attendance.

"We are very fortunate to be bolstered by a tremendous community and the most passionate fan base in Minor League Baseball," remarked IronPigs General Manager Kurt Landes. "In this new era of family-oriented entertainment we are extremely proud that so many people continue to choose Coca-Cola Park for a convenient, affordable and fun sports and entertainment experience."

The Crown Jewel of Minor League Baseball's most prestigious league, critically-acclaimed Coca-Cola Park continues to be received with an unmatched level of excitement and fanfare in the Lehigh Valley and surrounding regions. Since the franchise's inception a year ago, the team has averaged 8,792 per game - a number that greatly exceeds Coca-Cola Park's fixed seating capacity of 8,089. Every seat in the ballpark has been sold for 105 of 138 all-time regular season games - including 22 consecutive games -- with 33 all-time capacity crowds of 10,000.

By becoming one of just six Minor League franchises to surpass the 600,000 mark for total attendance, the IronPigs emerged as one of the top draws and premier franchises in Minor League Baseball. Coca-Cola Park became an overnight sensation and drew rave reviews for its intimacy, fan-friendly atmosphere and architectural design.
