June 6, 2012 - Prospect League (Prospect)
Lorain County Ironmen News Release

Cody Koch belted his second home run in as many nights - a solo shot that put Lorain County ahead 1-0 in the first.

On the heels of 5 straight singles, three more runs came across in the fourth inning. Jake Neuschaefer and Kairee Tekra drove in the runs for the Ironmen.

Nate Antone smashed a fastball over the centerfield wall for a 2-run homer in the top of the fifth to boost the lead to 6-0.

Dan Zuchowski and Nick Lombardi each hit solo shots in the bottom of the fifth inning to bring the Ironmen lead to 6-2.

Mattie Dedoes tossed the best Ironmen start to date tonight.

In five innings, Dedoes allowed only three hits, two earned runs and struck out three on 53 pitches. Dedoes didn't walk or hit a batter.

Zach Speer and Spencer Bryant were effective out of the bullpen tonight. They combined for five strikeouts and allowed only one hit in four scoreless innings of relief.

Dedoes picked up his first win of the season and the Ironmen snapped a 4-game skid to improve to 3-4. They return home for a 2-game set with the West Virginia Miners tomorrow and Friday night. Both games are scheduled for 7:05 PM first pitch.
