Lorain County Ironmen News Release
Former Lorain County Ironmen pitcher Kris Hall realized a dream earlier this evening. When the 259th pick of the 2012 Major League Baseball Amateur Draft was announced, Hall was officially given the chance to play professional baseball. The Oakland Athletics selected the 6'3" 215 pound right-hander in the 8th round.
Hall, a native of Strongsville, Ohio, had a brilliant season on the rubber at Lee University this spring. In 100.0 innings, Hall posted a 12-0 record (16 starts, two complete games) with an ERA of 1.71. He struck out 122 batters and held opponents to a .191 average.
Hall pitched in eight games in 2012 during Lorain County's inaugural season in the Prospect League. Hall posted a 2-3 record in 41.1 innings, allowing only 15 earned runs.
Congratulations to Kris and his family. He is the fourth former Ironmen player to move on to professional baseball since the team formed in 2010.
