Norwich, CT - The Aberdeen IronBirds dropped their fourth straight game Saturday night at the Connecticut Tigers, 4-3.

The Tigers mounted a two-out rally to take the lead in the second. Matt Perry and Patrick Leyland hit back-to-back singles. Colin Kaline hit a groundball to second. The ball went through second baseman Dudley Leonora's legs and into right field. The error allowed Perry to score the first run of the game.

Connecticut scored three more runs in the third. Chad Wright, Eugenio Suarez and Tyler Collins started off the inning with three singles in-a-row, scoring one run. Dean Green lofted a fly ball to left field that Austin Knight dropped, allowing a second run to score. Aaron Westlake knocked in Collins with an RBI-single making it 4-0.

The IronBirds cut the deficit in half in the seventh. With one man down, Adam Davis doubled down the left field line. The next batter, Ryan Zrenda, picked up his first professional hit. He lined an RBI-double down the right field line. Leonora knocked in Zrenda with an RBI-single.

Aberdeen mounted a rally in the ninth. Davis led off the inning with another double. Martin Serrata knocked him in on an RBI-single.

Unfortunately for the IronBirds, that's as close as they would get. Matt Crouse (4-1) allowed two runs (both earned) on eight hits in 6.1 innings for the win. Jose Mota (1-2) allowed all four runs (three earned) in 2.1 innings of work, taking the loss. Melvin Mercedes (2) allowed a run in the ninth, but picked up his second save of the season.
