ANOTHER WIN SLIPS AWAY:

The ‘Birds allowed nine unanswered runs in the last five innings of the game games versus Hudson Valley in the two losses. Aberdeen falls to 8-15 on the season with a 5-3 loss on Sunday.

MAYBE THIS TIME?:

With Aberdeen embarking on a three-game road trip to Lowell, the ‘Birds will see if they can record their first win since 2007. Aberdeen took a 6-5 victory against the Spinners in Lowell on August 23, 2007. The IronBirds are 4-11 all-time against the Spinners.

RECORD-BREAKING CONTEST:

The ‘Birds 14-10 loss to Hudson Valley on Saturday tied several records in the ‘Birds eight year franchise history. Ty Kelly's five hits tied Arturo Rivas (Aug. 21, 2004 @ SI) and Caleb Joseph (July 16, 2008 vs. JAM) for most hits in a game. The combined 34 hits tied most combined hits in a game, which was set on July 31, 2005 at Jamestown. The ‘Birds held an 8-1 lead before losing the contest. The seven run advantage was the largest blown lead in franchise history, surpassing the mark of six set on July 20, 2005 at Vermont.

PAIR OF TYLERS, PAIR OF FIRSTS:

Tyler Townsend and Tyler Kelly hit their first professional home runs on Saturday. Townsend's came in the second inning, as he went 2-for-6 with two run scored, a walk and three RBI. Kelly went 5-for-6 with three runs, a RBI and a walk.

ANOTHER ATTENDANCE MARK:

6,636 fans attended last night's game at Ripken Stadium, setting the ninth best attendance in team history. The ‘Birds have set three record attendance marks this year with 6,701 (#2) on July 3 versus Oneonta, 6,658 (#5) versus Brooklyn and 6,636 (#9) versus Hudson Valley.

STREAKING:

Aberdeen's 8-4 win over the Renegades on Friday, gave the ‘Birds their longest win streak of the season. The three game win streak for the ‘Birds helped snap a five-game streak for Hudson Valley.

TOP HEAVY:

The first three batters in the line up Mike Mooney, Tyler Kelly and Levi Carolus combined 9-for-14 in the team's first win streak on the road. The ‘Birds collected four extra-base hits and 6 RBI.
