MILWAUKEE - Todd Hammel has not lost his touch as an arena football quarterback. The 42-year-old former Milwaukee Mustang completed 23 of 32 passes for for 273 yards and seven touchdowns to lead the Milwaukee Iron to a 66-63 win over the Albany Firebirds before 4,557 fans at the Time Union Center Saturday night. Bryan Pray caught eight Hammel passes for 143 yards and 5 touchdowns in his debut with the Iron. Antoine Burns had 9 catches for 87 yards and two touchdowns followed by Scott Burnoski with 6 catches for 43 Yards. Burns had 8 kickoff returns for 202 yards, including a 57 yard return for a touchdown. Bryant Sylvas turned an attempted onside kick by Albany into an Iron touchdown by returning eight yards to the end zone with 14:44 to go in the second quarter.

The Iron stayed within reach of first place in the af2 American Conference Midwest Division keeping pace with Iowa and trailing the Green Bay Blizzard by just two games in the win column. The Iron are home Friday, June 5 against Mahoning Valley at the Bradley Center.
