Iowa Signs Third Player in as Many Days

DES MOINES, IA - Iowa Stars Director of Hockey Operations Scott White announced this morning the signing of Center Dan Hacker to an AHL contract. Keeping with club policy, financial terms of the contract have not been disclosed. Today's signing was the third such addition to the Stars roster in as many days.

A native of Wasilla, Alaska, Hacker made his AHL debut during the Iowa Stars Calder Cup playoff run last season. In four playoff games, he registered two goals, including the game-winning goal in Iowa's 5-1 win on April 27th. Named the ECHL Rookie of the Month for the month of March, the 6-1, 195-pounder recorded 13 goals and 18 assists in 31 games for the Stars ECHL affiliate, the Idaho Steelheads: 31(13/18/31).

In 156 games with the University of Nebraska-Omaha from 2001-05, he notched 79 points, including 39 goals: 156(39/40/79). The 24-year old also won a USHL National Championship as a member of the Omaha Lancers in 2001.

The Stars Opening Night is scheduled for Thursday, October 12th against Houston. Wells Fargo Arena game time is 7:05 PM.
