Iowa Energy Finalize Coaching Staff

DES MOINES, IA, October 21, 2013 - The Iowa Energy have named Bruce Wilson, Deane Martin, and Tyler Marsh assistant coaches for the 2013-14 season.

Wilson returns for his fourth year with the team. A Simpson College graduate, Wilson has been with the Energy since 2010. Prior to joining the team, Wilson was the head coach at Simpson College for 25 years (1985-2010), where he led his team to three IIAC championships. He also was an assistant at Gonzaga University, where he coached NBA Hall of Famer John Stockton.

Martin previously coached at Idaho State University as both an assistant coach and interim head coach before coming to the Energy. Last year, he was an assistant with the Reno Bighorns in the D-League. His NBA D-League experience also includes the Dakota Wizards during the 2008-09 season and the Bakersfield Jam during the 2007-08 season. Prior to joining Idaho State, Martin spent the 2010 season as the head coach of Potros Itson, a professional team in Mexico. Martin graduated from Central Missouri with a degree in physical education.

Marsh graduated from Birmingham Southern College with a degree in Business Administration. Marsh was the Director of Basketball Operations with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers last season. He played college basketball for Birmingham Southern and the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

The Energy have also named Dylan DeBusk a basketball operations assistant for the upcoming year. DeBusk, an Arizona native, assisted with the University of Arizona basketball team prior to joining the Energy.

"I'm very excited to have the staff together. We have an incredibly talented group that I'm confident will allow us to compete for a D-League title," said Energy General Manager Chris Makris.

Season tickets for the 2013-14 season tickets are on sale now. The Energy will host Rio Grande Valley Vipers in their Opening Day game on December 8 and the newest NBA D-League team, the Delaware 87ers on Opening Night, December 14.
