
Iowa Conference Tournament begins tomorrow

May 6, 2009 - The Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference baseball tournament begins on Thursday, May 7 with games at Daniels Park, and Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium. The tournament is hosted by Wartburg College.
Six IIAC teams are vying for the automatic conference bid to the NCAA Division III baseball playoffs. Loras, Luther, Coe, Wartburg, Buena Vista and Simpson qualified for the double elimination tournament as the top six teams in the standings during the regular season.
Warburg (#4) will play Buena Vista (#5) at Daniels Park starting at 10 am with Coe (#3) playing Simpson (#6) at Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium starting at 1 pm.
A complete tournament bracket and schedule are available at www.kernels.com Daily and tournament passes are available. Media wishing to cover the games should contact tournament officials once arriving at the stadium. The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium have hosted the IIAC Tournament since 2004. The Kernels are the class A Midwest League affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
