TULSA, Okla.- Marcus Lewis earned his 31st double-double of the season with 12 points and 11 rebounds, Ryan Reid added a team-high 12 boards and Jerome Dyson pitched in 23 points, but the Tulsa 66ers (21-23) fell short at home in overtime to the Iowa Energy (23-19) by a 101-95 final Friday night.
Tulsa, who entered the contest on a five-game winning streak, used a 27-15 scoring advantage in the fourth quarter to force its fourth overtime battle of the season.
"We did a great job down the stretch in the fourth quarter to force overtime," 66ers head coach Dale Osbourne said. "Give Iowa credit, they made shots in tough situations at the end."
Also scoring in double figures for Tulsa was Larry Owens and Robert Vaden with 15 each and Dwight Buycks with 10 off the bench.
The 66ers defense forced 21 Energy turnovers and created 11 steals, led by Dyson and Delroy James with three thefts each.
Tulsa racked up 23 assists on 36 made field goals, led by Lewis with five helpers.
Pacing Iowa was Ben Strong with 13 points and 13 rebounds and Patrick Ewing Jr. with 12 points and 10 boards. Reserve Mike Efevberha led the visiting team with a game-high 27 points.
The 66ers and Energy meet again Saturday night, March 24, inside the Tulsa Convention Center at 7 p.m. CT.
"The great thing about this league is that we get to come back and fight again tomorrow night," Osbourne said. "We have to continue playing with a sense of urgency and take it one game at a time."
