DES MOINES - The Iowa Barnstormers have accepted the resignation of Head Coach Dixie Wooten, President Jeff Lamberti and Vice President/Chief Operating Officer John Pettit announced today.
After three seasons as Head Coach of the Iowa Barnstormers, Dixie Wooten has decided to part ways with the team. Wooten has had a successful run with the Barnstormers, finding his way into the playoffs all three seasons and winning the team's first Championship title in 2018. The Barnstormers organization is grateful for all that Wooten has done for the organization during his time in the head coaching position. "On behalf of the entire Iowa Barnstormers organization, we thank Dixie Wooten for his efforts to bring a winning team to Des Moines over the past three seasons," said Lamberti. "Coach Wooten will always be part of the Barnstormers family and we wish him the best in his future endeavors."
The Barnstormers will begin a nationwide search for a new Head Coach who will put a winning team on the field and bring the Championship trophy back to Des Moines.
Announcements regarding the 2020 season's schedule will be released in the coming months.
