Iowa Barnstormers Add Another Defensive Back

DES MOINES - The Iowa Barnstormers have signed defensive back Titus Howard to the 2022 roster, Head Coach Dave Mogensen announced today.

Howard (6-2, 185, Slippery Rock) joins the Iowa Barnstormers for his for his first season in the Indoor Football League (IFL). Collegiately, Howard began his career at the University of Pittsburgh where he spent one year appearing in 11 games with the Panthers and collecting 21 total tackles and two pass breakups. Howard then transferred to Slippery Rock University. While at "The Rock," Howard appeared in 25 games and collected 101 total tackles, five interceptions 1.5 sacks, 3.5 tackles for loss, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery.

Following his collegiate career, Howard earned invitations to rookie minicamp with both the Washington Football Team and the Kansas City Chiefs.

"Titus is a tremendous athlete, you don't start games at the BCS as a true freshman unless you are," said Head Coach Mogensen. "He had a highly successful college career and earned camp spots with multiple NFL franchises. He should be a force for us as a corner this spring."

Howard will join the Iowa Barnstormers 2022 Training Camp in the spring.
