Intimidators Top Braves, 9-3

Rome, GA - The Kannapolis Intimidators defeated the Rome Braves 9-3 in front of 2,458 fans at State Mutual Stadium Thursday night to take game three of the four game series. The loss drops the Braves below .500 for the season at 7-8.

Kannapolis took a 1-0 lead in the first inning on an RBI double by Ian Gac. Rome evened the score in the bottom half of the first on a Matt Kramer sacrifice fly to plate Jordan Kreke. The Braves pulled ahead 2-1 in the second inning on a Jordan Kreke RBI single.

The Intimidator's bats broke out in the third with five runs to take back the lead 6-2. The scoring was highlighted by RBI doubles from Miguel Gonzalez, Ian Gac, and a Trayce Thompson three-run home run. Kannapolis added two additional runs in the sixth inning to extend their lead to 8-2.

Rome scored their final run of the night on a Chris Lovett RBI single in the bottom half of the sixth and the Intimidators added an insurance run in the ninth inning for the final 9-3 score.

Matt Wickswat (1-2) earns the win for Kannapolis while David Hale (0-2) picks up his second loss of the season for Rome.
