Kannapolis Cannon Ballers News Release
KANNAPOLIS, N.C. (August 3, 2011) - The Kannapolis Intimidators, the Class A Affiliate of the Chicago White Sox, are beginning the "Back to School" season by hosting a fundraiser for local school systems during Teacher Appreciation Night on Sunday, August 21. The Intimidators will be playing the Hagerstown Suns (Washington Nationals) at 5:05 p.m. at Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium. Fans who mention supporting local schools when purchasing their tickets for this game - either by phone or in person - will have $1 from their ticket donated to area school systems.
This year, Kannapolis City Schools and Cabarrus County Schools have opted to participate in the fundraising program. All fans have to do is mention "school" at the window on Teacher Appreciation Night, and the Intimidators will make the donation.
"It's our first year to host this program, and we're incredibly excited to be working with Kannapolis City and Cabarrus County Schools," said Jason Bright, Director of Ticket Sales for the Intimidators. "We realize the importance of supporting our local school systems in any way we can, from sending out mascot Tim E. Gator to visit classes to donating a portion of ticket sales."
Sunday Intimidators games this season are Kids Day presented by Zammitti Orthodontics featuring pre-game player autographs, Dave & Busters carnival games on the concourse, and post-game kids run the bases presented by Xtreme Play.
Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium is located off I-85 at exit 63. For ticket information, please call the Intimidators box office at (704) 932-3267 or visit the team's website at www.IntimidatorsBaseball.com. School districts interested in future participation should contact Jason Bright at jbright@intimidatorsbaseball.com.
