Intimidators split with Sand Gnats

(Kannapolis, NC) – The Sand Gnats rallied for four runs in the fifth inning overtaking the Intimidators 6-2 in Game 2 of the double header Friday night at Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium.

Devin Perrin went the minimum five innings required for to qualify for the win. He allowed nine hits and two runs. Jeremy Plexico tossed two innings for the save.

Ricardo Nanita's RBI single scoring Antoin Gray broke a 4-4 tie in the bottom of the ninth inning in the first game of the double header. The game was delayed two hours at the start due to rain.

Leo Daigle moved into second place in the Intimidators Single Season Home Run List with a three run blast, his fifteenth this year, in the first inning putting Kannapolis ahead, 3-0. He trails teammate Chris Young who leads the club with twenty one.

The visiting Sand Gnats drove in two runs in the third on and RBI double by Jerry Owens and an RBI single by Kory Casto.

Daigle drove in his fourth run of the game in the third inning with a two-out single scoring Robert Valido adding to the lead, 4-2.

The Sand Gnats answered in the top of the sixth inning with Erik San Pedro's game tying, two run homer off Intimidators starter Rafael Flores.

Michael Moat tossed three scoreless innings for the win. Brett Reid began the ninth inning for Savannah and took the loss.
