(Columbia, SC)âThe Capital City Bombers swept a doubleheader from the Lake County Captains Friday night, winning the first game 6-5, and the second 6-4, at Capital City Stadium.
In the first game, the Bombers rallied for a run in the bottom of the sixth against lefty Blake Allen (4-3) to snap a 5-5 tie. Capital City catcher Jimmy Anderson drove in Jesus Linares who had doubled.
In the second game, the Bombers (27-18, 71-44) slugged three two-run homers to post a 6-4 win. The Captains were leading 4-2 when Linares and Caleb Stewart launched two-run shots against Adam Hanson (3-4). Stewart finished 5-6 with six RBI in the doubleheader.
The Captains (22-25, 58-59) will complete the four-game series against the Bombers on Saturday night at 7:05 (WELW AM 1330).
