Kannapolis Cannon Ballers News Release

LEXINGTON, KY - The Intimidators offense stuttered once again on Monday night in Lexington as the Legends captured a 2-1 win at Applebee's Park.

Kannapolis saw its scoreless innings streak reach 17 before finally plating a run in the top of the ninth. Jorge Castillo crossed home on a wild pitch with one out in the final frame, but the Intimidators failed to find the final hit to tie the game. Jordan Cheatham struck out with the tying run at third and the go-ahead run at second to end the contest.

Cheatham had been one of the most reliable members of the offense up to the final at-bat, recording a pair of hits in his first two at-bats.

Lexington got a great start from Robert Bono, who fired five shutout innings. He also struck out three without walking a batter to push the Legends to 4-0 to start the season. Lexington did not win four straight games at any point during the first half of the 2008 season.

Garrett Johnson took the loss for the Intimidators, going five innings and giving up two earned runs. Johnson also struck out two and walked two in his first start of the season.

The Intimidators (3-2) have now lost two straight after winning their first three games of the season.
