
Intimidators Bash Grasshoppers 8-2

Kannapolis Cannon Ballers News Release
Kannapolis, NC - The Intimidators (32-27) pounded out three runs in the 1st inning and added a Jordan Danks grand slam in the 5th inning to down the Greensboro Grasshoppers (25-37) by the score of 8-2 at Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium.
The Intimidators started the scoring in the 1st with a sacrifice fly from Jorge Castillo to plate Eduardo Escobar. Jim Gallagher followed with a two-run double for three runs in the inning.
Kannapolis added on to a then 3-1 lead with a Jordan Danks grand slam in the 5th. The homer was Danks' first professional home run.
The final I's run scored in the 6th inning with a RBI infield single from Eduardo Escobar single to plate Jim Gallagher.
Intimidators' starter Adam Bowling (4-1) earned the win with five scoreless innings in his first start of the season. Johnnie was scheduled to pitch but was a late scratch.
The Intimidators and Grasshoppers play game two tomorrow with a 5:05 first pitch. The gates open at 4:00pm on a Family Fun Day with a pre-game autograph session and post-game run around the bases brought to you by the Cannon School. Just three home games remain in 2008.
