Inter Miami CF News Release
Back to School season is in full swing and Inter Miami CF has partnered with the Inter Miami CF Foundation and Club partners Florida Blue and IPFone to launch their largest Back to School Bookbag Distribution in Club history, further emphasizing their commitment to youth education.
This year, official community partner Florida Blue generously matched Inter Miami CF's investment in the Back to School program; thanks to the generous contribution, the Club will be donating 1,000 book bags full of essential school supplies to underserved families across Miami-Dade and Broward County.
As part of the Back to School efforts, Inter Miami CF hosted a "bag packing" day in which Inter Miami CF First Team players Chris McVey, Ryan Sailor and Shanyder Borgelin, along with Club staff and volunteers, came together to pack all 1,000 bags and get them ready for distribution.
The Club also participated in the City of Miami District 1 Back to School Bookbag Giveaway on Saturday, Aug. 5 at Juan Pablo Duarte Park alongside the Inter Miami CF Foundation, official community partner Florida Blue, and the office of City of Miami Commissioner Alex Diaz De La Portilla. Inter Miami and Florida Blue gave away 500 bags during the event, which also featured activities for the kids and families in attendance, as well as participation from Inter Miami CF Academy athletes from the U-16, U-17, and U-19 teams.
Additionally, Inter Miami sent back packs to the Florida Blue Back to School event benefiting Little Haiti FC and donated a portion of the bags to FLITE Center of Broward County, whose goal is to provide support services for our transitioning youth to help them become successful adults.
The remaining Back to School bags will be donated to various other nonprofits and organizations whose focus is to aid underserved youth and low-income families. This year's collaboration with Florida Blue and IPFone marks the largest Back to School efforts yet for the Club, and allows Inter Miami to continue to meaningfully impact the South Florida community.
