Familiar Faces - The match will mark the sixth meeting between New York and Miami and the second this season. Miami took the first in the season opener, 2-0, on March 12. The club has multiple former New York players including Florian Valot, Bolu Akinyode, and Devon Williams.
Futures Night - Friday will mark New York's third annual Futures Night, which honors the club's Pre-Academy players. New York defeated Hartford Athletic, 2-0, in September of 2021 on the last Futures Night. Three former Pre-Academy players, Erick Ruiz, Nate Worth, and Bento Estrela have recently seen time with Red Bulls II.
Marcucci's Return - In New York's last match on September 3, AJ Marcucci returned from injury and started for the first time since July 1. The goalkeeper has made 13 starts in net this season, which is tied with Giannis Nikopolidis for the team lead. Marcucci has tallied 39 saves and two clean sheets in 2022.
