EL PASO, Texas - Rio Grande Valley F.C (9-12-6) is back in the win column as they defeted El Paso Locomotive FC (11-12-7) in a crucial Copa Tejas matchup for the Toros. Pinzon scored the final goal of the match for the Toros in the 0-2 win as they claimed three points on the road.
RGV FC struck quickly within the first two minutes of the match with both Jose "Gringo" Toros and Emilio Ycaza taking shots that didn't convert 0-0.
At the 16th minute, Ricky Ruiz attempted goal that bounced off the bar and didn't connect, 0-0.
RGV FC shot six times in the opening half, placing three shots inside the box as both sides went into the break deadlocked at 0-0. Tyler was forced to make two saves as the home side was relentless in the attack.
Frank Lopez coming in strong on a substitution scores the first goal of the game at the 71st minute with a strong shot to the back of the net, 0-1. Frank Lopez is now the scoring leader for the RGV FC toros with five goals. Ricky Ruiz claimed his fourth assist of the year after he dished out a quick pass to Lopez to create the play.
At the 79th minute Christian Pinzon put on a clinic socring the second goal of the night with an assist by Ricky Ruiz, 0-2. Ruiz claimed his fifth assist of the year and Pinzon joins the top of the pack with four goals, his fourth in as many matches.
