Inland Empire 66ers News Release

San Bernardino, CA- The Inland Empire 66ers of San Bernardino downed the Lancaster JetHawks 3-2 on Friday at San Manuel Stadium. After allowing two first inning runs, the Sixers quartet of starter Erik Manoah (1-1), Jonah Wesely, Daniel Procopio and Greg Belton (SV, 1) combined to shutout Lancaster over the final eight frames allowing just four hits and striking out seven men in that span.

The JetHawks (7-9) jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first on Vince Fernandez' two-out two-run single against Manoah. The 66ers answered back in the bottom of the frame with on a RBI single from Julian Leon and then a throwing error later in the inning allowed another run to tie it up. The Sixers broke the tie in the third when Kevin Williams came through with an RBI single to right scoring Jared Walsh for a 3-2 lead. Walsh, who's 11-game hit-streak ended in the game, took a pair of the 66ers' five walks in the game. For Williams, who was activated from the Disabled List on Thursday, it was his first hit of the season and second RBI; the Miami native also stole a base. Neither team scored the rest of the way. Manny Melendez had two hits for the JetHawks while Roberto Ramos' third inning double was Lancaster's lone extra-base hit. Leon had the two hits for the Sixers including a two-bagger. Inland Empire (8-8) has now played nine one-run games in 2018 winning six of them.

The series continues Saturday at 6:05 pm. The contest can be heard live at 66ers.com.
