Inferno Sign Another Rookie Defenseman

Columbia, SC, October 5, 2003— Head Coach Scott White announces the signing of their fourth player, rookie defenseman, Derek Eastman who has agreed to terms for the 2003-2004 season. Eastman will be joining Mike Roemensky, Greg Amadio and Blair Clarance on the ice for the 2003-2004 season.

The 5'10, 175 lbs. St. Paul, Minnesota native, registered three goals, 14 assists and 26 penalty minutes in 21 games during his senior season at St. Cloud State, part of the NCAA Western Collegiate Hockey Association.

"Derek is a smooth skating defensemen who played for an excellent program at St. Cloud State," said Coach White. "He will definitely compete for some power play time and I look forward to having him as a part of our organization."

The Columbia Inferno plays one preseason game against the Florence Pride on Friday, October 10th at 7:30pm. They will open their season on Friday, October 17th at 7:30pm against the Florence Pride.
