COLUMBIA, S.C. (Aug. 23, 2007)- The Columbia Inferno announced the 2007-08 season schedule today, following several changes to earlier preliminary schedules. The 2007-08 season marks the introduction of the Elmira Jackals to the North Division and the return of the Mississippi Sea Wolves to the South Division. The Inferno will head out on a Northeastern road trip in late November to play Elmira, the Johnstown Chiefs, Reading Royals and Trenton Titans. Columbia will later host Mississippi for the first time in three years Friday, Dec. 7 for the first of six total meetings between the two clubs. The season, with 72 games in total, begins on Friday, Oct. 19 as the Inferno visit the Charlotte Checkers. The Inferno open at home Friday, Oct. 26 against the Augusta Lynx. The schedule includes a season-long road swing of six games from Dec. 8 through Dec. 28, followed by a six-game homestand from March 6 through March 15. February is the Inferno's busiest month, with 14 total games (six home, eight away), followed by March with 13 games (nine home, four away). In addition to the regular season, the Inferno have also scheduled two exhibition games in mid October. Columbia will host the Augusta Lynx on Friday, Oct. 12, followed by a road game against the Charlotte Checkers on Saturday, Oct. 13. A complete season breakdown follows:

Dayton Bombers: one game (one home)
Elmira Jackals: one game (one away)
Florida Everblades: eight games (four home, four away)
Gwinnett Gladiators: nine games (five home, four away)

Mississippi Sea Wolves: six games (three home, three away)
Pensacola Ice Pilots: seven games (four home, three away)
Reading Royals: one game (one away)
South Carolina Stingrays: 10 games (five home, five away)
Texas Wildcatters: six games (three home, three away)
Trenton Devils: one game (one away)
