
Krestanovich duo stays with Salmon Kings

Victoria, BC- The Victoria Salmon Kings, affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose, announced today that the team has agreed to terms with forwards Jordan and Derek Krestanovich. The siblings were among the seven players extended qualifying offers at the beginning of July.
"Both Jordan and Derek carry experience and a dedicated work ethic," said Dan Belisle, Vice-President of Hockey Operations and General Manager. "Last season they were reliable and energetic players, and we are happy to have them back with our club."
The duo out of Surrey, BC was acquired in a trade with the Pensacola Ice Pilots in November of last season.
Jordan Krestanovich, 26, was selected by the Colorado Avalanche in fifth round (#152 overall) of the 1999 NHL Entry Draft and has logged seven pro seasons, including 22 games in the NHL. The 6-foot-1, 180-pound Forward had a three-point night in his Salmon Kings debut and shares the club record for most points in one game in the playoffs (4).
He began his junior career in the WHL with the Calgary Hitmen in 1997-98. In 226 games with Calgary he scored 163 points (66 goals, 97 assists) in the regular season and 37 points (18 goals, 19 assists) in 58 playoff games. Jordan has also earned time in the American Hockey League (AHL) with the Hershey Bears and Houston Aeros, in the Swedish Elite League and with Bolzano HC of the Italy league.
Derek Krestanovich, 24, was selected by the Washington Capitals in round 3 (#92 overall) of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft and has logged three seasons in the ECHL. The 6-foot-1, 180-pound Center scored 43 points in his pro rookie season (2004-05), and has tallied 119 points (44 goals, 75 assists) over his pro career.
He began his junior career in the Western Hockey League (WHL) with the Kamloops Blazers in 1999-2000. From 2001-02 until 2003-04, Derek played for the Moose Jaw Warriors and finished in 2004 with the Swift Current Broncos. In 257 junior hockey games he posted 147 points (53 goals, 94 assists) in the regular season and 17 points (8 goals, 9 assists) in 33 playoff games.
The Salmon Kings will kick off their fourth season in the ECHL in Idaho on Oct 19, 2007, and will host the Las Vegas Wranglers for the Home Opener Series on Oct 26 and 27.
