Individual Tickets Go On Sale Monday

BRIDGEPORT, CT – The American Hockey League's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, top affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, have announced individual-game tickets for the first half of the 2003-04 season will go on sale this Monday, September 8th. Sound Tigers tickets will be available at Bridgeport's Arena at Harbor Yard box office Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. and Saturday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., as well as on-line at www.ticketmaster.com or by calling Ticketmaster at 203-368-1000.

The Sound Tigers have also announced they will visit the Friendship Cup at the Twin Rinks in Stamford this Saturday, September 6th and the Big Boy Toy Show at the Norwalk Seaport Association's Oyster Festival all weekend.

The Sound Tigers will have an information table and Storm, the team mascot , will be at the Friendship Cup starting at 2 p.m. Saturday. Game schedule and ticket information will be available along with an "Enter to Win" for four tickets to the Sound Tigers' October 11th regular-season home opener versus the Philadelphia Phantoms. The Sound Tigers will also donate a jersey, Family Four Pack and 12-person luxury suite to the Friendship Cup auction.

The Friendship Cup is a hockey tournament to honor Mike Pelletier and Ted Maloney who lost their lives during the events of September 11, 2001. All of the proceeds from the tournament will be donated to charity in their names. Additional information about the Friendship Cup is available on-line at www.thefriendshipcup.com.

The Sound Tigers will have an information booth and set up the Tiger Tunnel inside the Big Boy Toy Show from 5 p.m. until 11 p.m. Friday, from 10 a.m. until 11 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday. Fans will be able to purchase ticket packages all weekend, and Storm will make special appearances on Saturday and Sunday. This will mark the third year in a row the Sound Tigers have participated in the Big Boy Toy Show and the Norwalk Seaport Association's Oyster Festival.

The Norwalk Seaport Association's Oyster Festival was created in 1978 and provides an opportunity for non-profit groups to raise funds. In addition, the Seaport Association contributes to the financial support of many area youth groups by hiring them to work at the Oyster Festival. Proceeds from each year's Oyster Festival also provide year-round funding for the Norwalk Seaport Association's environmental education programs. These programs reach more than ten-thousand preschool and elementary school children. Funds also support the Norwalk Seaport Association's restoration and operation of Sheffield Island Lighthouse.

The Sound Tigers will begin their third season of play this fall under the guidance of new Head Coach Greg Cronin.
