
Indians settle for 4-4 tie

PEORIA, Ariz. â After leading by three runs in the fifth inning, the Indianapolis Indians stumbled to a 4-4 tie on the road with the Portland Beavers, San Diego's Triple-A ballclub today in spring training.
The loss brings the Indians to a 6-4-1 mark with three games remaining before the team heads back to Indianapolis on April 5.
J. J. Hardy sparked the scoring in the fifth inning with a solo home run, followed by Chris Coste's double into right field. Corey Hart doubled, driving in Coste. Hart stole third and then came home on a wild pitch.
Roberto Giron, who pitched the ninth inning for the Tribe, could not convert the save opportunity.
The Indians will be on the road again Thursday, traveling to battle the Salt Lake Stingers, Anaheim's Triple-A club, at Gene Autry Park.
