
Indians' bats hot in 10-4 win

Kinston lit up the Lynchburg skies with 13 hits and four home runs as they beat the Hillcats 10-4 Monday night in Virginia. K-Tribe third baseman Wes Hodges hit two home runs to lead the Indians. Hodges hit his first homer in the fourth inning to tie the game at two. Josh Rodriguez broke the tie in the sixth inning when he hit a two-run bomb, his third of the season. Lynchburg would come right back and tie the game at four in the bottom of the sixth inning. In the top of the eighth inning back to back two-out singles by Chris Gimenez and Mike Butia set the stage for Brian Finegan's two RBI double giving Kinston a 6-4 lead. Finegan later scored on an infield single by Jose Constanza. Kinston added three more runs in the ninth inning on back to back home runs by Hodges and Gimenez. Hodges now leads Kinston with four homers on the season. Gimenez has hit the long ball in back to back games.
Jeff Stevens (3-0) picked up the win for Kinston out of the bullpen. Kinston set a season hi with ten runs and thirteen hits; winning three games in a row for just the second time this season. Kinston gets set for game two of this four game series Tuesday night a 7:05pm. Kevin Dixon will take the mound for the K-Tribe.
