Indy Eleven News Release

INDIANAPOLIS - Indy Eleven's valued Community Partner Indiana Soccer Association would like to thank all of those who contributed in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015 to promote the game we all love and bring more opportunities to children in Indiana via its specialty license plate program. The association has sold over 1,000 plates these past four years and is looking ahead to the continual success of the program.

Indiana Soccer is excited to start its fifth year of the program by partnering with Indy Eleven, furthering a collaboration that will continue growing the game and developing the skills of Indiana's youth both on and off the field.

"Indy Eleven is proud to partner with Indiana Soccer on a newly designed specialty license plate all fans of soccer in the Hoosier State can display on their vehicles to show their support of the sport and Indiana's Team'," stated Tom Dunmore, Vice President of Marketing and Operations of Indy Eleven. "We hope all Indy Eleven fans take this opportunity to secure their plates and help build the sport statewide.

Indiana Soccer is committed to utilize the proceeds to continue serving the growth of soccer in any and every form possible. Recently, Indiana Soccer announced the creation of Indiana Futsal, which will govern the burgeoning game across the State of Indiana and bring exciting opportunities for current members and non-members to participate.

"Futsal is enjoyed by players across the world, and is especially popular in traditional soccer-loving countries like Brazil and Italy, who together have amassed a total of nine Men's World Cup championships," stated Dave Guthrie, Indiana Soccer's executive director. "There are actually more people playing futsal than there are playing soccer. Futsal can be easily made available to children who currently do not have access to the 'beautiful game' that most of us enjoy playing on grass."

Indiana Soccer and Indy Eleven hopes all players, coaches, volunteers and families involved with the sport will consider obtaining a newly designed soccer specialty license plate to demonstrate their support of the beautiful game and Indiana's Team! Revenues generated as a result of these sales will benefit several outreach programs that involve hundreds of children around the State of Indiana.

The Indiana Soccer plate can be purchased at any Indiana BMV license branch or certified partner location. For those that already have an Indiana Soccer plate and are renewing their registration, the new plate design will not be received until they are scheduled by the BMV to receive a new metal plate. However, the new design may be requested at any time by paying an additional plate swap fee.

The Indiana Soccer plate may be registered on passenger cars, trucks up to 11,000 lb., motorcycles, and recreational vehicles. The plate may be purchased for $40, with $25 being returned to Indiana Soccer.

For the months of January and February members with last names beginning with the following letters will have a chance to select the Indiana Soccer specialty plate when renewing license plates.

AAAA, ARNN, ARNO, BATE, BATF, BLAI, BLAJ and BRID.

Low Digit Plate: A low digit plate (numbers 1 - 100) can be secured for an additional fee. The fee charged by the BMV is due upon first issuance and again at the beginning of the new plate life cycle in 2017. Those interested in securing a low digit plate may contact Paco Espinosa at paco@soccerindiana.org. The BMV requires a signed, low-digit release form be produced from Indiana Soccer in order to complete a request for a low-digit plate. Below are the low digit numbers currently available; note that low digit plates are running out!

48, 49, 52, 53, 56, 59, 67, 73, 79, 85, 89 and 92.

Note: If the number requested is available, Indiana Soccer will send a signed release authorizing the person requesting to use the low digit number. Once you receive the authorized form, the form should be presented to any local BMV license branch or certified partner location, thus allowing BMV to produce the specialty/low digit plate.
