Minnesota United FC News Release

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - As Minnesota United continues to prepare its roster for the 2016 season, the club announced today it has released three players from their roster: Alejandro Vela, Kalif Alhassan, and Geison Moura. Yago returned to his home club of Vasco da Gama following the end of his loan with United.

Vela joined Minnesota during the Fall Season, adding late game speed to the Loons' attack as a substitute. He appeared on the field nine times for United.

Alhassan came to United during the 2015 preseason and played the entire season with the club. In 28 appearances, he scored four goals and his six assists tied the club's single-season record.

Moura also joined the Loons in the beginning of the season, having previously played for the club from 2010 through 2013. The Brazilian made seven appearances for the club in 2015.

Yago came from Vasco during the Fall Season, making his debut for United on the way to a 4-0 win over the Jacksonville Armada.

United recently signed 2015 NASL Golden Boot winner Stefano Pinho as well as Jamaican international and three-time NASL Best XI selection Lance Laing to add to its already potent offense. More roster announcements will be made in the coming weeks.
