Vancouver Whitecaps FC News Release

VANCOUVER, BC - Major League Soccer announced on Friday that Vancouver Whitecaps FC defender Kendall Waston's red card last Saturday in their match at Atlanta United FC has been rescinded by the Independent Panel.

The Independent Panel, comprised of one member of US Soccer, one member of Canada Soccer, and one member of the Professional Referee Organization, unanimously rescinded the one-game suspension and accompanying fine for the red card issued in the 13th minute of last weekend's match.

As a result, Waston is eligible to play in the 'Caps road match at Columbus Crew SC on Saturday, March 31. He is currently away on international duty and will be unavailable when Whitecaps FC look to set a new MLS club record home unbeaten streak this Saturday when they host LA Galaxy at BC Place.

Each club is entitled to two unsuccessful appeals per season, including playoffs. Since Vancouver's appeal was successful, the team maintains two unsuccessful appeals for any future dismissals in the 2018 season.
